For me personally, this is a special moment.

As a lifelong Cardiff City supporter since 1989, Cardiff City Football Club has been a constant presence through different stages of my life — from childhood memories of Ninian Park to following the club through promotions, challenges, rebuilding periods and unforgettable moments over the decades.

So, to now see MacManus Asset Finance become an official Cardiff City FC Community Partner is something I’m genuinely proud of — both personally and professionally.

What makes the timing even more meaningful is that this announcement comes as MacManus Asset Finance celebrates its 21st year in business.

Building a business over two decades requires resilience, consistency, trust, and long-term relationships — values that also sit at the heart of football clubs and the communities built around them.

For us, becoming a Cardiff City FC Community Partner is not simply about branding or visibility.

It’s about becoming part of a wider business community connected through one of the most recognisable institutions in Welsh sport.

Supporting Businesses Across the UK Since 2005

MacManus Asset Finance was established in 2005 with a simple philosophy:

To provide businesses with straightforward, relationship-led finance support that helps them grow with confidence.

Over the past 21 years, we have worked with SMEs across the UK, helping business owners access tailored funding solutions across five key areas:

  • Asset Finance
  • Invoice Finance
  • VAT Loans
  • Business Loans
  • Car Finance

While the financial products themselves are important, we have always believed our role goes much deeper than arranging finance facilities.

We position ourselves as an outsourced business finance partner to our clients.

That means understanding:

  • business objectives
  • cash flow requirements
  • growth plans
  • operational pressures
  • investment opportunities

and helping clients structure finance solutions that support long-term commercial success.

Relationships matter in business finance.

And over the years, many of our strongest opportunities have come through trusted introductions, long-term partnerships, and professional networks.

That is one of the reasons why becoming a Cardiff City FC Community Partner felt like such a natural fit for us.

More Than Football

Football clubs are unique.

They bring together:

  • business owners
  • professionals
  • entrepreneurs
  • local organisations
  • supporters
  • communities

through a shared identity and sense of connection.

Cardiff City is no different.

The club has an enormous presence within the city and across South Wales, and the Community Partner programme creates opportunities for businesses to engage with one another in a meaningful and authentic way.

For MacManus Asset Finance, this partnership is not about becoming a headline sponsor or chasing mass-market exposure.

It is about building relationships.

We see this as an opportunity to:

  • connect with fellow Cardiff City partners
  • engage with local business owners
  • strengthen our network across South Wales
  • increase awareness of the support we provide to SMEs
  • contribute positively to the wider Cardiff business community

As a relationship-led business, those opportunities are incredibly valuable.

A Club With Momentum Again

There is also a real sense of positivity surrounding the club again.

Cardiff City’s promotion back to the Championship has created excitement across the fanbase and renewed energy around the city.

Successful football clubs create momentum far beyond the pitch.

They generate optimism, commercial activity, and stronger engagement across local businesses and supporters alike.

As both a supporter and business owner, it feels like a fantastic time to become involved.

We are looking forward to being part of that momentum during the 2026/27 season and beyond.

Why Relationships Matter in Business Finance

In today’s market, business owners have access to more finance options than ever before.

But access to finance alone is not the challenge.

The real challenge is understanding:

  • which facilities are appropriate
  • how to structure borrowing effectively
  • how to manage cash flow
  • how to fund growth sustainably
  • how to make confident financial decisions during uncertain economic conditions

That is where strong advisory relationships matter.

At MacManus Asset Finance, we work closely with clients to understand the bigger commercial picture rather than simply arranging individual transactions.

Whether supporting:

  • vehicle acquisitions
  • equipment investment
  • working capital requirements
  • VAT liabilities
  • growth funding

our approach is always consultative and relationship-driven.

That philosophy has helped us build long-standing relationships with clients, introducers, and funding partners over the past two decades.

Looking Forward to Engaging With Fellow Partners and Business Owners

One of the most exciting aspects of becoming a Cardiff City FC Community Partner is the opportunity to meet and connect with other businesses connected to the club.

South Wales has an incredibly strong business community filled with ambitious entrepreneurs, advisers, and growing companies.

We are looking forward to:

  • attending partner events
  • building new professional relationships
  • supporting fellow local businesses
  • creating new opportunities for collaboration

and becoming an active part of the wider Cardiff City commercial network.

The strongest business relationships are rarely built through hard selling.

They are built through:

  • trust
  • consistency
  • shared interests
  • genuine conversations
  • long-term thinking

Football has a unique ability to create those environments naturally.

Personally, This One Means a Lot

As someone who has followed Cardiff City for almost 40 years, this partnership genuinely means something to me personally.

Supporting your club is emotional.

It becomes part of your identity, your memories, and your life experiences.

To now combine that lifelong support with the business I’ve spent 21 years building is something I’m extremely proud of.

There is a real sense of coming full circle in being able to represent MacManus Asset Finance within the Cardiff City business community.

Looking Ahead

As we move into this next chapter, we are excited about the opportunities ahead — both for MacManus Asset Finance and for the wider Cardiff business community.

We see this partnership as:

  • a platform for building relationships
  • an opportunity to engage with ambitious businesses
  • a way to strengthen our presence across South Wales
  • and another important milestone in the continued growth of MacManus Asset Finance

Most importantly, we are looking forward to meeting fellow supporters, business owners, and partners connected through Cardiff City Football Club over the seasons ahead.

After 21 years in business and almost four decades supporting the club, this is a partnership we are genuinely proud to be part of.
